Since 2005, RENATURA Congo has been monitoring 170 kilometers of wild coastline, protecting five species of sea turtles threatened with extinction. From nighttime surveillance of nesting beaches to the release of accidental catches, specialized veterinary care, and awareness-raising in 23 coastal villages, we have developed the largest marine conservation program in Central Africa.
With more than 19,500 turtles saved, 1,500 nests protected each year, and poaching reduced from 80% to less than 5%, we prove every day that harmonious coexistence between humans and these ancient ocean navigators is possible. Join us in this vital mission that is transforming entire communities of poachers into passionate guardians and restoring hope to these majestic creatures that are 150 million years old.
